The evolution of the OLT Technology

From the first lamellar skin care products in 1994 to the patented OLT Technology
A New Generation of Skin Barrier Repair Technology

From the Pioneers of the lamellar skin care technology to the Breakthrough of OLT®

OLT® is not just an evolution of traditional barrier repair technology—it represents a revolutionary breakthrough.

Importantly, the OLT® research team is the same group that originally developed in the early 90th the first lamellar skin care technology, and  in 2010 the most succesfur product was launched in the pharmacy using biomimetic skin care technology. This means that OLT® is next stage in the evolution of barrier repair science.

When lamellar skin care technology was introduced, it disrupted the skincare industry by pioneering emulsifier-free formulations, using lipid structures that closely resembled natural skin barrier composition. This innovation helped dry and sensitive skin restore its protective function. Until now there are still many successful products in the market. However, as dermatological research progressed, it became clear that the structure of healthy skin is build by hexagonal and orthorhombic lamellar structures. Our previous lamellar structure resemble on hexagonal lamellar.

After nearly 30 years of scientific research and clinical testing, the development team introduced OLT® technology, taking biomimetic skincare to a higher level. OLT® not only mimics the structure of healthy skin barriers but also actively promotes self-repair mechanisms.

The Breakthrough and the Evolution of OLT®

OLT® Technology Advances:

Hexagonal + orthorhombic lipid structure, more precisely mimicking healthy skin barriers.
Dual-phase lipid arrangement, ensuring long-term and stable skin barrier repair.
Significantly enhances TEWL reduction, allowing longer-lasting moisture retention.
Designed for severely compromised skin barriers, including atopic dermatitis and post-cancer treatment skin repair.

How Does OLT® Improve Skin Barrier Repair?

1. Rebuilding the Skin’s Dual-Phase Lipid Layer

A healthy skin barrier consists of hexagonal (Hexagonal) and orthorhombic (Orthorhombic) lipid structures.

However, in conditions like atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and diabetic skin issues, these structures become unstable, making the skin more susceptible to external irritation.

OLT® replenishes intercellular lipids, helping damaged skin restore both structures, bringing the barrier back to optimal health.

2. Enhancing TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss) Reduction

This is particularly beneficial for:
Post-cancer treatment skin (prone to extreme dryness and irritation).
Chronic dry skin and sensitive conditions.
Strengthening skin resilience against environmental factors.

OLT®: The Next Generation in Lamellar Skin Care Technology

In 1994 we first pioneered biomimetic barrier repair, now OLT® represents the evolution of this technology, pushing skin barrier science to the next level.

More advanced lipid structures for improved barrier function.
Dual-phase repair technology for long-term stability.
Superior TEWL reduction, enhancing hydration and moisture retention.

Long-Term Skin Health

This advancement means that skincare is no longer just about short-term hydration—it is about deep skin repair and long-term health maintenance.

For dermatologists, skincare professionals, and consumers, OLT® provides a scientifically advanced solution for severe barrier damage and long-term skin health management.
