Our Story

It was not developed overnight but is the result of more than 30 years of scientific research and innovation, bringing together the expertise and experience of the world’s leading dermatology specialists.
1994–2010
The Birth of Kuhs GmbH and DMS Technology
1994: The Establishment of Kuhs GmbH Derma Systems and the Development of DMS Technology
In Lörrach, Germany, Kuhs GmbH Derma Systems was founded, focusing on the research of skin barrier repair technology. The company successfully developed DMS (Derma Membrane Structure) technology, an innovative approach that mimics the skin’s natural lipid structure, effectively repairing and strengthening damaged skin barriers.
The Successful Application of DMS Technology
DMS technology quickly became a groundbreaking innovation in the field of skincare and was licensed to several internationally renowned brands, including:
Physiogel® (owned by Stiefel Laboratories, Inc.): A star product designed for dry and sensitive skin.
Restylane® (Q-Med AB): A major innovation in the field of hyaluronic acid fillers.
Bepanthen Sensiderm® (Bayer AG): A skincare product specially designed for eczema and sensitive skin.
Mederma® (Merz Pharmaceuticals GmbH): A specialized skincare product for scar treatment.
2015
The Birth of OLT Technology
Technological Innovation: From DMS to Ortholamellar Technology (OLT®)
After the acquisition by GSK, the research and development team continued to focus on advancing skin barrier technology, leading to the introduction of Ortholamellar Technology (OLT®).
Compared to DMS, OLT® more precisely mimics the skin’s hexagonal and orthorhombic structures, delivering faster and longer-lasting repair effects.
This technology is applied to various skin concerns, including eczema, psoriasis, and post-cancer treatment skin care.
2019
The Founding of Zeitschild
To promote OLT® technology and focus on the care of sensitive and diseased skin, Zeitschild GmbH was established, dedicated to providing the most innovative skin repair solutions.
2023-
Zeitschild Asia
Zeitschild is actively expanding its marketing and brand presence in global markets, strengthening its leadership in the field of medical-grade skin barrier repair.
In 2023, the brand hosted the first ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, where it fully showcased its OLT® technology across the Asia-Pacific region and engaged in in-depth exchanges with dermatology experts and medical institutions.
In 2024, BIOSCIEN officially became the exclusive distributor for Zeitschild in the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing Zeitschild Asia’s operations and professional medical distribution. Through scientifically validated OLT® technology, it continues to provide advanced skin barrier care solutions.
